Welcome to Smiling Goat Trails!

Thanks for stopping by! We’re Big N and Lollie—at least, that’s what our grandkids call us!

We’ve reached a point in our lives where we’re ready to start looking for our next adventure. And somewhere along the way, that adventure became Smiling Goat Trails.

We’ve always loved being outdoors and enjoying everything God and Mother Nature have given us. But when we got our Jeep in the summer of 2025, a whole new world opened up. Suddenly, those back roads, hidden trails, creek crossings, and out-of-the-way places we had always wondered about became places we could actually explore.

And we were hooked.

But something else happened along the way—we started meeting some pretty great people. People who enjoy exploring, getting outdoors, finding new places, and making memories just like we do. That sense of community quickly became as much a part of the adventure as the trails themselves.

You Don't Have to Be a Hardcore Off-Roader

As we became more involved in the Jeep community, we noticed something: a lot of Jeep owners never actually take their Jeeps off the pavement.

And we understand why.

Not everyone wants to climb giant rocks, tackle extreme obstacles, or risk tearing up the vehicle they drive to work on Monday morning. For many people, the biggest thing holding them back is simply not knowing where to go, what to expect, or whether they can handle the trail.

That's where Smiling Goat Trails comes in.

We're not trying to find the hardest trails.

We're trying to find the trails almost anyone can enjoy.

We look for easy trails, scenic back roads, creek crossings, forgotten roads, interesting destinations, and those little off-the-beaten-path places you might never discover unless someone shows you the way.

We'll explore them, share what we find, and hopefully give you the information and confidence you need to get out there and experience them for yourself.

Because adventure doesn't have to be extreme.

Sometimes it's simply turning down a road you've never traveled before, seeing what's around the next bend, and discovering a place you didn't even know was there.

Find Your Own Path

Smiling Goat Trails is about more than Jeeps and trails. It's about getting outside, trying something new, meeting good people, making memories, and remembering that you're never too old—or too young—to start a new adventure.

We're still figuring out where this journey will take us, and that's part of the fun.

So, whether you're an experienced off-roader or you've never put your Jeep in 4-wheel drive, we hope you'll come along with us.

Maybe we'll help you discover a new trail.

Maybe we'll meet you somewhere along the way.

Or maybe we'll simply give you the confidence to turn off the pavement and see where that road goes.
